So hard to keep up with my blog!!! (need a new computer)

I so rarely find time to sit down and write here!!!  Once we get a new computer and I can access the blog wirelessly and quickly, I hope to write more often.

So we had an earthquake today!  I was sitting on the floor changing Ian's diaper when it happened.  Max and I noticed some strange sounds that sounded like a cat jumping onto the floor from the bed in the room above us.  However, there were other signs that it was not the case.  A sippie cup on the floor with water in it started to do the Jurassic Park thing, and the windchimes hanging from the ceiling inside chimed quietly in a periodic rhythm.  It lasted for about 45 seconds.  I freaked out at first bc I thought there was someone trying to break into our house via the crawlspace.  Everyone was ok.

And yesterday I locked Max and myself out of the house while Ian and Chloe were inside!  Brian had to come home from work to let me back in.  What a crazy day that was, and then we get the earthquake!

Oh and don't forget that there is hurricane Irene scheduled to make landfall Saturday!

Oh yeah, and here are milestones that I need to record:  Ian started crawling the first week of June, and Chloe started mid-August.  As of today, Ian has 4 going on 6 teeth, and Chloe has 6.  They sleep through the night just fine now from around 8:30pm until 7:00am.  They eat bananas and bread and cheerios and carrots and of course baby food.  We have also tried hummus and cheddar and swiss, all kinds of good stuff.  And ever since we got back from the beach trip in mid-July, we have replaced 1 nursing a day with formula.  I am working towards stopping breastfeeding by their first birthday.

Ok, time to catch up on some Z's!!!

Mid-May Update

So it seems that keeping up with this blog is difficult, but I'm trying!  New pictures have been added to the shutterfly site - see links below.

Thanks to Brian, Ian and Chloe for getting me a flip cam for Mother's Day!  Now I am taking videos and posting to youtube and facebook.  Love it!

We have a new babysitter, Erin.  She is working out great and is a big help.  Although the kids and I miss Kaylie!  Kaylie was so much more than a babysitter, and Max misses her too!  Kaylie will be visiting for the kids' and her birthday in September and we can't wait!  Hopefully we can work out visiting Kaylie in Minnesota next year????

The kids are really taking well to eating solid foods now.  They eat two solid meals each day, lunch and dinner.  We have even moved onto meats now.  Chloe loves everything she tries.  She doesn't care if it is new or not, she likes it.  Ian is more picky and will not always like new things.  Eventually he grows to like them, though.  We have some great pics of the kids "eating" in our photo site.

Brian is out on a business trip this week, but he is getting to do exciting stuff without us.  Meeting Dupont CEO's and others!  And, Brian got a promotion this month!  Congrats Daddy!!!

www.idontlikepeas.me

We tried feeding peas to the twins tonight and the verdict was . . . . meh.  Neither of them really liked them.  But too bad cause we're doing it again tomorrow!  HAHAHA.

Results from the pediatician today:  Ian is 13 pounds and 11 ounces, Chloe is 13 pounds and 3.5 ounces.  They are both developing very well and go back to the doc in 3 months.  More shots today, but no more until they hit 12 months.  Yay!

Kaylie came with us today but she is moving in less than 10 days, we will miss you and your help going to the doctor!

Six Month Update

So the twins are almost six months old now.  I can't believe how fast they are growing up!  We go to the doc next week for more shots and a check up.

Brian went to Japan for 2 weeks and was traveling in Taiwan when the magnitude 8.9 earthquake hit Japan.  Thankfully he made it home only 1 day later than scheduled.  All of our friends in Japan are also ok.  Congrats to Erica for getting married!!

After Brian came home, we decided to try feeding rice cereal to the twins.  We mix a tablespoon of the cereal with 2 ounces of breastmilk.  Ian took to it right away.  He would open his mouth as soon as the spoon came close.  Chloe wasn't sure at first, but the next day she had really improved.  She is very intent on holding a spoon herself and making sure it stays in her mouth.  She is ready to feed herself apparently.  After we see the doc next week, we'll probably get advice about trying to introduce other solid foods.  Can you believe I'm still breastfeeding?

Ian has started "talking" to us.  Mostly "mahbahbahmah" sounds!  Chloe has figured out how to scream bloody murder, so that is her new obsession.  Both of them really enjoy looking at each other and smiling.

More updates soon!

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day!

Ian and Chloe had a good first Valentines Day.  Auntie Kaylie surprised them with cute I Love
My Aunt onesies!!  Ian has been doing really well lately with rolling over both ways and Chloe is such a big fan of standing up with assistance.  It won't be long before they are crawling and walking!

The family has finally gotten over our collective cold, so maybe Brian and I will see about uploading more pictures soon.

Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit this weekend, yay!

First "Cold" for the Family

Well it is official.  Brian got sick this past Saturday with a cold, and now we all have it!  Neither Ian nor Chloe has a fever, but we all have sniffles and are whiny.  Lets hope we get better soon!

Brian is going to Japan for 2 weeks in a couple of weeks so everyone wish us luck!

I am going to see if Brian will upload new pics soon!

Checkup at the Pediatrician yesterday

Chloe and Ian did very well at the doctor yesterday.  Chloe is 11 pounds and 4 ounces, and Ian is 11 pounds and 12 ounces!  Now it seems that Chloe is gaining on her "little" brother.  She took her shots like a trooper and barely cried.  Ian, on the other hand, was very upset and needed lots of cuddling and comforting afterwards.

Thanks again to "aunt" Kaylie!  She was a big help in getting us there and back, and of course in helping out at the doc's office.  We go back on 3/30/11 for their 6 month checkup.  They will likely start eating solid foods then!  OMG!

Four Month Update

Yay!  Ian and Chloe are 4 months old today!  In a couple of days I will go to the pediatrician for their checkup.  Thanks Kaylie for coming with!

I suspect that Ian has started teething but we haven't seen any teeth yet.  He likes to put his fingers in his mouth and drool all over himself.  I estimate he goes through 8-10 bibs every day.  Both Ian and Chloe have mastered smiling at us and I think they will soon start to smile at each other.

They will probably start eating solid foods in the next month or so, but for now we are still breastfeeding them exclusively.  Yay me!!!!

Hopefully I will find more time later to update the blog.  For now, Chloe is awaiting her "sparkley girl bathtime!"

Three Month Update

Check out the links on the left for recent pictures.  We have made a new website to show Holiday pictures from 2010!  Everything is going great here.  We have all recently discovered the TV show Yo Gabba Gabba thanks to Kaylie Hensley!!

We went to Richmond VA to see Grandma and Grandpa for Xmas.  Aunt Katie and Chris were there, also.  We all had a great time.  We also went to see the Donovans at their home and had a wonderful dinner.  Ian and Chloe found themselves both asleep in front of their Christmas tree at some point.  Check out the pics!
